Buckeye Valley Fire Board News and Meetings

Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431-.02, the Governing Boards of the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority, the Buckeye Valley Fire District, the North County Fire & Medical District, and the South County Fire & Medical District hereby states that all notices of meetings and other required public postings will be posted at the following locations:

1. Arizona Fire & Medical Authority Administrative Offices 18818 N. Spanish Garden Drive, Sun City West, Arizona 85375

2. Arizona Fire & Medical Authority Fire Station 232, 25020 S. Alma School Road, Sun Lakes, Arizona 85248

3. Buckeye Valley Fire District Administrative Offices, 6213 South Miller Road, Buckeye, Arizona 85326

4. Arizona Fire & Medical Authority website:www.afma.az.gov

The respective notice will be available to the public at such locations not less than 24 hours prior to a meeting, unless the meeting covers an emergency, as provided in A.R.S. § 38-431.02.

Such notices will indicate the date, time, and place of the meeting and will include an agenda or information concerning the manner in which the public may obtain an agenda for the meeting.

Executive sessions may be held by the Governing Board as provided in A.R.S. § 38-431.03. Notice of executive sessions will also be posted at the posting locations.


The Buckeye Valley Fire District Governing Board, will meet in a Regular Business Session April 18th, 2023 at 6:00 PM.

The Buckeye Valley Fire District mailed a tax notice to the Buckeye Valley community, which provides information regarding the General Obligation Bond tax rate for the 2019 tax year. Buckeye Valley Fire District PSPRS Board Meetings are scheduled as required and held at the BVFD Administrative Office (6213 S. Miller Road, Suite 112, Buckeye, AZ 85326). In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), those with special needs, such as large-type face print or other reasonable accommodations may request those through the BVFD Administrative Office by calling (623) 386-5906 at least 24 hours before the meeting.

Each employer that participates in the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) must establish a five person Local Board, which includes a chairperson, two appointed persons, and two individuals who are contributing members of PSPRS.

THERE IS NO OPEN BURNING WITHIN MARICOPA COUNTY AND BUCKEYE VALLEY FIRE DISTRICT BOUNDARIES WITHOUT A BURN PERMIT ISSUED BY THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (ADEQ) OR MARICOPA COUNTY

How to Report Violations

To report a violation, use the online Air Quality Violation Report Form or call 602-506-6010. The phone line is available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with voice mail available after business hours and on weekends. If unable to contact, please call the fire department non-emergency line at 602-495-5555.

Recreation (camp) fires during the winter months are permitted if burning is allowed in Maricopa County when air quality restrictions are not in place.

Remember, it is always best practice to communicate with your neighbors when having a recreation fire, so they do not report a call to

your local fire station.
